Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi) remains one of Euphoria‘s most controversial characters, and fans have long been wanting to see him face the consequences of his violent and abusive actions. While he seems much calmer in Season 3, all signs point to karma finally catching up with him.
With trouble closing in, does Nate die on Euphoria? Here’s everything we know, including the wild theories circulating online.
As of this writing, Nate does not die in Euphoria Season 3—but there’s speculation that he won’t walk away from the season alive. Back in April 2025, a Euphoria fan account on X claimed a “reliable source” told them “there will be a significant death” in Season 3. A few months later, in August, the same account posted that Nate was “heavily rumored to die.”
After the trailer was released in January 2026, the odds of Nate’s dying in Season 3 grew because a split-second shot showed him covered in blood and screaming in pain. Polymarket traders have even reported that Nate has a 52% chance of dying in Euphoria Season 3.
Several fans have theorized that Nate will die at his and Cassie’s (Sydney Sweeney) wedding, possibly at the hands of Maddy (Alexa Demie) or Rue (Zendaya).
“Who do we think kills him? My guess is either Maddy or Rue,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “I’d really like for it to be Maddy because of everything he did to her, but Rue makes sense … I saw some people saying Cassie but I wouldn’t think so.”
Others argued that Tyler (Lukas Gage) could return to Euphoria and kill Nate. If you recall, Tyler hooked up with Maddy in Season 1, and Nate accused him of sexually assaulting her since she was only 17 at the time. Nate then beat Tyler to a pulp, and later, he turned himself in and was arrested for assault.

Although these are interesting theories, it seems more likely that, if Nate were to die, it would be at the hands of his loan shark, Naz (Jack Topalian).
Season 3 reveals that, since taking over his father Cal’s (Eric Dane) business, Nate has blown through most of his investors’ funds and is essentially broke. He owes Naz over $500,000, and when he doesn’t pay back the money in time, Naz crashes Nate and Cassie’s wedding in Episode 3 to let Nate know he’s about to become his “worst f—king nightmare.”
When the newlyweds arrive home, they are attacked by Naz and his henchman (played by Matt Willig). Nate is brutally beaten, thrown against the railing of his staircase, and dragged across the floor. It gets incredibly gory, as Naz even cuts off Nate’s right pinky toe.
If he doesn’t cough up the money soon, the torture won’t stop—and Nate might not make it out of Euphoria Season 3 alive.
